Just back from a great week in Cuba - 11 permit to 5 rods equals how many Mojitos?

Check out the Harris Boys emptying Draycote with a little help from Dad.

If my herberts can catch a shed-load so can yours...kick the X-Box under the sofa and get your kids out fishing this Easter. Find somewhere where the fish are close in & concentrate on the kids - not you - catching some fish. Make sure they all wear glasses & use barbless hooks at all times. You know it makes sense - one day you'll have someone to row the boat & carry the kit when you can't quite manage it.

Thanks to Craig Barr & all the staff at Draycote - its STILL fishing its head off!

Stop looking at your computers & get yourself down to Draycote Water, where the fishing is off the charts. My good pal, former English Loch-style champion Martin Webster and I wrestled out well over 80 fish yesterday using Airflo Fast Glass lines & just about anything we cared to tie on. Lots of fish over 4 pounds - many grown-on - & some even bigger. My best was 5lb 14ounces. Absolutely worn out! Many thanks to Craig Barr & his team for providing mobs of top-quality fish that will make Draycote a sensational place to go trout fishing all summer long.

Here's a shot of one of 14 fish I had at Elinor in a morning session last week - another one of the UK's top trout waters. Ed Foster runs a fantastic fishery & the Elinor fish are always looking up for food, so make sure you pack your dries & emergers. This fish was the biggest of the season so far & weighed 13lb 8 ounces - it went back to fight another day. Airflo Slow Glass & one of Craig Barr's olive crunchers contributed to its downfall. Many thanks to Andy Lane for getting it in focus ( for once... )
